If the user imports a test report instead, the parser should map that file into the same scan record so the dashboard, fault list, and reminders behave exactly the same. These apps often look complete, but fail when Bluetooth sessions and imported reports produce slightly different vehicle records or code structures. One real issue is maintenance reminders becoming inaccurate because mileage from imported files and live scans are stored differently, so I handle it by using one normalized scan model and local encrypted storage for customer history. The part to get right early is the shared scan data structure and reconnect logic, because that controls both usability and diagnostic correctness.
