Two versions of jQuery on the same page

I have a website that I have been working on. It is built on the Wordpress/Buddypress platform.

I installed lightbox on my website. The jQuery on the lightbox is an older version than on my Buddypress/Wordpress file. This is causing a conflict and not letting my lightbox to work correctly.

I have no knowledge in javasciript or jQuery.

All I need is someone that can get my lightbox to work.

I heard that a fix could be done by using something along the lines of

var $jq = [url removed, login to view]();

I tried that (not sure if I used it correctly) and it still does not work. So I need your help.

I also need someone to clean up the code.

Hey, I know how to use [url removed, login to view] to use two different versions of jQuery. I can also clean up the code for you. For a sample of my jQuery work see [url removed, login to view] . Thanks!
