I need someone to finish a project I started. The project is a log viewer that can be incorporated or extended into another java program. The program itself extends the log4j api. Users who incorporate the logviewer should be able to create their own custom log filter or appender. For example, if I had a statement in my program that looks like this:
// This line creates another appender and log file if it's not there already.
LogViewer logViewer = [url removed, login to view]("PROPS", "/logs/PropEditLog.log");
then down in the code somewhere I print a log statement out:
[url removed, login to view]([url removed, login to view]([url removed, login to view]().getName()), "File load succeeded: " + fileContents);
when I open the logview GUI, I will be able to choose my "PROPS" log from the menu item.
the LogViewer class will basically create a [url removed, login to view] file on the fly and save it to the filesystem in a /logs directory. This file will be read it and parsed if it's already been created. Again, I've got a lot of that code already written.
I've already developed the GUI screen and most of the guts. I need someone to finish this little project for me because I don't have the time.
The logviewer should be able to output text from the logfile onto a web page, this can be a servlet. The servlet will basically be almost like the logviewer GUI, but less complex. The servlet will have the log filters, and that's about it. So if someone wanted to incorporate this logviewer class on their backend J2EE app, they will have a nice little webpage that shows the logs from their chosen appender.
I also have some sevlet code that can be used in this project.
