We are interested in a client-server application for browsing wap sites on mobile phones.
The application running on the mobile phone will be developed in j2me. It will have similar functionality to a wap browser, but it will connect to an access point (pc) using bluetooth connection. The mobile application must NOT use GPRS or wifi connection. It will work as a browser for simple wap content and all data transfer from and towards the access point must be made using bluetooth. The browser will always connect to a default starting page hosted on the access point.
The access point application will be developed in .net or java. It must be able to connect to multiple mobile devices simultaneously. It will work as a proxy server for a local web server. It will serve data to connected bluetooth browsers according to requests from the browser. A local web server will host the default wap application which everyone will see as the starting page. The wap pages of the application will be fully wap compatible and may contain links, forms, text, images and must be dynamicaly managed.
This starting page must be able to serve as a web proxy and serve other wap pages (internet wap pages) uppon request from the mobile application.
The access point should automatically locate the handsets that have the application running and connect them to the local server application.
Local sites must be hosted completely on the access point, without connection to the internet.
The mobile application must be compatible and tested with most bluetooth enabled mobile handsets (nokia, motorola, sony ericsson, samsung etc) and support different screen sizes so there should probably be different versions of the application.
Also, different versions of the mobile application might request different content (size of photos or different pages etc) from the server application.
BIDDERS MUST HAVE DIRECT EXPERIENCE IN CREATING BLUETOOTH SIMILAR APPLICATIONS OR THEY WON'T BE CONSIDERED.
This will be an ongoing project, so we are looking for permanent cooperation if everything works out fine with this project.
