This project is for an Java applet viewer for MJPEG streams from network cameras from manufacturers such as Axis and Panasonic.
The Applet should pull its configuration directly from the server as XML, to avoid having to encode MJPEG stream URLs and guest user/pass details in the parameters passed from the html page itself.
The applet's security settings must allow http connections to arbitrary cameras (i.e. cross-domain). There should also be a security mechanism to ensure that the applet is only allowed to exist in particular domains, to prevent anyone from stealing it and re-using it elsewhere.
If the Java applet is unable to connect to the specified MJPEG stream, it should time out after n seconds, display a message like "sorry, stream currently unavailable", and allow the user to try again with a "Restart" or "Connect" button.
The chosen developer MUST have good English and be able to produce neat, well commented code and be prepared to upgrade the applet if required.
