Assume there is an RTF file (MS WORD RTF). In this file there are some texts and tables. In between these texts there are some TAGs put (as for example <<CompanyAddress>> or <<CompanyName>>). These TAGS has to be replaced by external texts available in HTML format.
The HTML texts do not need to be very complex. It is enough if basic formatings are available.
Fonts, Fonts size, Fonts color, Background color,
Bold, Italic, Underlined,Crossed, etc.
IF HTML texts are having not any formating (plain text) then these texts are shown inside RTF with formating defined in RTF file (Inserting plain text into RTF file we have already managed).
IF HTML texts are with some formatings then these formating have to be visible in RTF file.
If for example HTML text is as follows:
"This is my home" which place word "by" with bold formating then in RTF this text appears with font specified by RTF but the word my " should be with bold formating.
If the text in HTML is as follows:
"<font type A><font size X><Font Color B>This is my home</Font type A> </Font Size X></FontColor B>"
then the text in RTF is displayed with formating specified by HTML (except these formationgs which are not shown in HTML text.
Above explanation is a bit simplified but I hope is clear enough.
So we look for a mechanism, which can put a HTML string into specified place in RTF file.
In fact this job has to be divided into two parts:
1. Translating HTML String to RTF string (only with few formattings). We have a code for this part of the job. Maybe not very clean but working.
2. Inserting string into specifed place in RTF. We also have mechanism for this job, except that when some new formatings are put into RTF file, then also RTF heading has to be corrected accordingly. The RTF heading contains all formatting which are used in the file.
The job is to clean and update HTML to RTF converter (which is not to much of code) and to assure that right update of the RTF heading is done when placing a string into RTF.
The solution have to be written using Java (desktop)
We have already larger part of a code done (sent as enclosure), but we have no more contact with the peron who started this job.
Included please find this code. "Ugly [url removed, login to view]" meas code whcih is not very nicely prepared. "[url removed, login to view]" shows some extra works
