Our San Francisco-based e-commerce startup has an immediate need for a part-time, contract web designer.
We have several “themes” for online storefronts that are currently in the Photoshop mockup stage. Each theme consists of 3-5 pages, which share common images and layouts. You’ll be working with our visual designer to convert these into cross-browser HTML and CSS, and with our development team to add the dynamic elements to each page. The resulting theme library will be made available for use and customization by merchants who use our platform to host their online store.
The ideal candidate lives and breathes HTML5 and CSS3, and knows all of the browser compatibility tricks and ways to reduce page load time. Meticulous attention to detail is a must! Besides striving for visually stunning, pixel perfect layouts, you should be an excellent communicator and able to complete this project within a set timeframe and budget. Experience with Django or Rails templates is a nice-to-have, but not required.
Compensation can be hourly, or on a project or per-theme basis. We’re open to working with individuals or agencies. Future projects include additional themes, landing pages, and custom design work for our clients.
