We are looking for a top-notch Python developer to develop a Facebook application. Preference is for programmers with experience in Pylons OR Django OR Google App Engine. This PAID TEST project will require you to demonstrate your skills in Python and web applications using the Pylons application framework with SQLAlchemy. Good knowledge of XHTML, CSS, and Javascript a plus. We hope to build a long term relationship with successful candidates and provide additional projects upon completion of this project.

To ensure that you are the right person for our project we want to see your skills in action.

The following is a PAID DEMONSTRATION PROJECT to show your stuff.

Please read the instructions carefully and bid on just this demonstration project.

DEMONSTRATION PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS

So, as a means to help us understand how you interpret requirements, label identifiers, comment, strategize, we would like you to do a simple and short application which we pay-for to demonstrate aptitude with the technologies we use and to help us understand how well we communicate with each other. Here's the requirements.

1. Download and install TurboGears 2.1.1 ([url removed, login to view]). We use the TurboGears distribution of Pylons due to some of the nice packaging and controller enhancements it provides... ultimately, its Pylons with other key modules wrapped in. You'll also want SQLAlchemy, so you'll want to fetch the [url removed, login to view] branch.

2. Create a project that includes authentication and uses a MySQL Database and uses Mako Templates.

3. Create the following functionality.

3a. Create an application which lets me create a simple address book to track my clients. Each entry in the address book should at least track first and last name, email address, and allow me to add multiple addresses to each client. Addresses consist of physical mailing address including zip code and phone number. Zip codes should be validated (use jQuery client-side validation code) against a known list of zip codes to ensure valid zip code entry.

3b. For each address, find the latitude and longitude and store it with the address. Utilize Google or Yahoo services for this.

3c. Provide a form that allows me to find the client by phone number; display client and their addresses upon successful find.

3d. Please make sure to comment the code so that someone else can easily understand what is going on, what methods and classes are for.

4. Once done, be sure to include any dependencies in the setup.py. Basic knowledge of SetupTools is required.

4. Once done, zip up the source and send it to me so we can discuss. Also, if you can include a README that would list the steps for me to deploy this to my local machine and run, that would be great.

This shouldn't take too long (~<1 days work) and should be fun, hopefully.
