Window Focus Detection

We currently have a HTML page that contains 2 Iframes. In true PTC site fashion, the top Iframe is internal/local to the domain and the bottom Iframe is a remote website or URL. The top Iframe loads a local HTML file which contains a running timer. I believe (though I'm not sure) that this running timer affects the iframe focus as it updates every second.

We are looking for someone to develop a javascript implementation to detect whether the WINDOW is in focus or not, so we can prevent users hiding it or minimising it. Please note, we want the WINDOW focus, not the Iframes focus. Users must be able to navigate the internal Iframes without it setting off the trigger.

This implementation MUST work across ALL browsers if possible:

IE6/7, Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.
