I would like someone to set up MySQL replication for one of my databases, i currently have a dedicated server with a database that is used for my Joomla site, and would like to use MySQL replication as a backup system, but also as a fall-over system, the DNS settings etc do not need to be set up at the moment, what is important is that the Master database (The one on the dedicated server) is replicated to one or two of my other machines, these other machines also run Linux (Fedora 7) but they are desktop machines behind home networks. I am unsure of what is the best way to achieve this in terms of multi-master replication given that the IP address of each of the home networks is dynamic, but what i was thinking was that it might be possible to use Hamachi between all computers including the server, that way they all have static Hamachi based IP addresses,
The main aim of this project however is to make a stable backup system where the database is replicated to slaves, if it is to difficult to have a multi master setup then i can compromise with master - multi slave.
SSH Access can be provided to all linux machines with a catch. The one or two Linux machines that are behind a home network will have SSH access provided through hamachi. This is much easier than changing NAT etc for me. And Hamachi is freely available. It just essentially creates a secure VPN between Hamachi nodes.
This is a small budget ($100 USD) so if you can't do it at that or around that, please don't bid... I would also like to get this done ASAP, so whilst it is open for 5 days, i may pick one of the first few bids!
