I have 3 Linux Centos Servers, all hosted at Codero ([login to view URL]). They have basically:
. Some other packages
They are all Email Servers, that is, they have no Domains, they have only my customers' mailboxes for Domains hosted elsewhere, and so, they are POP3 and SMTP for these mailboxes.
Two of them, say, SRV8 and SRV9, have the mailboxes. The third, say, SRV4, is a kind of mailgate, that is, it is the MX Server for all the accounts' Domains. It receives all the incoming emails and delivers them to SRV8 or SRV9, based on a postfix transport file.
I need to cancel SRV4. As SRV8 and SRV9, which are POP and SMTP for all accounts, can also be MX, as a matter of fact I don't need SRV4 just for this.
So, the objective of this project is to review SRV8 and SRV9 environments, making the necessary adjustments, to make sure they are ready to work also as MX for their accounts.
Hi Mario, As discussed, this is my bid to validate the configuration of srv8 & srv9 to ensure that we can decom srv4 without issue. You will handle the DNS updates for all domains in question. Thanks, Vince
