Live Ubuntu [url removed, login to view] Web Server -Mandatory, don't break it!
I broke my CRON program by trying to follow a tutorial where a suggestion was to disaable PAM:
I broke my CRON by removing pam with apt-get purge winbind, etc.
A sample of my [url removed, login to view] file shows hacker activity similar to below:
pam_unix(sshd:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=ssh ruser= rhost=[url removed, login to view] user=root
pam_winbind(sshd:auth): getting password (0x00000388)
pam_winbind(sshd:auth): pam_get_item returned a password
I need CRON to be fixed.
I only have $40 to spend.

Hi, I can have a look to your cron daemon. If your crontab had entries and are removed from you, I cannot restore them (only if you have a backup). Regards, George
