My piano is in a top 3rd level apartment in Lane Cove on Sydney's North Shore.
I need it to be moved down 48 steps ie. 6 sections of 8 steps and 6 level landing spots.
There are 9 X 2 bedroom units being 3 on each floor on our staircase design.
It's a John Brinsmead UK piano built in 1950. Size in centimetres are : width 140, depth 59, height 119. This upright piano keyboard lid & adjoining timber section plus vertical timber wood piece above foot pedals can be removed easily for this downstairs move. I would say that it is medium weight for a piano as it is medium size for an upright piano.
It has level plastic slides attached to the base and also 4 steel castor wheels that may be removable ? There are two large round timber rods at the rear of the piano to assist moving it ie. 1 at each end.
