Experienced MacOS / Swift Support Programmer Needed
I have designed and programmed the initial cut at a Generative Art graphics program intended as an MacOS desktop application. All the programming at this point has been done in Swift 5.1 using Storyboards and the PocketSVG package for displaying and manipulating SVG images. I would like to hire an experienced programmer to help me whip the app into shape and get it ready to submit to the Apple App Store, hopefully by this October.
I am an artist and hobby-level programmer, and am looking to hire a professional MacOS developer for task-specific jobs, preferably someone who has experience developing and debugging Mac desktop apps, and preferably someone with some graphics experience. Having worked on an app currently being sold on the App Store is a big plus. The application is fairly large and complex and there are a number of bugs and design issues remaining that are beyond my skill level. I consider the code at this point to be in mid-Alpha testing with a significant bug list I am nibbling away at.
I am located in Manchester, MD, which is about an hour northwest of Baltimore, MD, and whoever I hire would need to work with me at my studio for one day to kick off the job, insure that we can work together, and to evaluate that their skills are up to the specific programming challenges remaining in the project. Any assigned tasks would be carried out at the person’s home location. Unfortunately my studio is located in a rural internet dead zone that StarLink hasn’t reached yet, and high-speed data transfers, etc. are somewhat limited and problematic.
The work would start around the first week of August and, depending on the hourly rate and experience of the person I hire, would probably constitute 1 month of work spread out over a 2-3 month period, more or less.
If you are considering applying and are curious as to who you would be working with, you can check out my YouTube channel (my name is Charlie Maiorana) as well as glance at the listing for my book “Puttering Around The Art Studio” which is sold on Amazon.
The applicant must be willing to sign an NDA. Although this type of software has a small niche market, I am hoping to at least sell enough copies to cover the development costs. If interested, just a short submission is appreciated, but be sure to include a couple of references, rate, experience, work location, as well as why I should hire you for this fun project.
