Required to analyze the database of the plane channel flow at Ret=180.

Required to analyze the database of the plane channel flow at Ret=180.

Basic Analysis (mandatory)

Calculation of the:

1) Wall shear stress (mean and rms)

2) Friction coefficient (tw/[url removed, login to view]

2) where U0 is the bulk velocity of the flow

3) mean velocity profile

4) Reynolds stresses

5) Skewness and Kurtosis

For 3-5 the statistics must be evaluated as a function of the wall normal direction,

The mean velocity has to be plotted in the following forms:

U(y)/Uo=f(y/h)

U(y)/ut=f(y+)

The second order statistics can be plotted as:

<u’u’>/ Uo2=f(y/h)

<u’u’>/ ut

2=f(y+)

The higher order statistics are made nondimensional according to the definitions given in the course
