Sensors, Transducers, and Data Acquisition
The purpose of the ECE 382 project is to identify, design, implement, test,
and document a test and measurement systems. You need to develop and
implement a project.
The overarching goal of the project will be to develop a system to measure a parameter from a
circuit or system, process the results, and prepare the results for display and use the results of
the measurement to control and output.
Each project will use an NI USB-6009 or USB-6002 DAQ. There are also purely Digital DAQs
and MyDAQs that can be used if needed.
Each project will also require some hardware to be designed and constructed.
Examples of the project include (but are not limited to):
Measurement of the input and output of a circuit using a manual frequency scan
Measurement of the parameters of a stroboscope
Measurement of temperature, pressure, sound level, position, proximity, etc
Measurement of an analog output parameter from an instrument with some processing
in the computer
Recording a sound and some signal identification/analysis
Control of a yellow traffic light
Control of a model railroad
Control of a railroad flasher or block signal
Control of a traffic light
Measurement of motor parameters
Decoding of a signal and actuation
Measurement of a bridge parameter
Measurement of deflection
