We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced freelancer to design a fully mechanical toolchanger based on a provided drawing and video. The toolchanger will be an essential component of a larger system, and its successful design is crucial to the overall functionality and efficiency of the system.
Responsibilities:
The selected freelancer will be responsible for the following tasks:
Review provided drawing and video: Carefully examine the provided drawing and video to gain a comprehensive understanding of the desired toolchanger design.
Mechanical design: Based on the provided information, design the required components of the toolchanger. This includes designing the sliding plate, rail, kinematic coupling (Kelvin Coupling), and any other necessary parts to ensure proper functionality.
Spring-loaded locking mechanism: Devise a spring-loaded mechanism that can effectively lock and unlock the sliding plate in place. The mechanism should allow for secure positioning of the plate when engaged, while also providing ease of unlocking when required. Consider the various locking methods mentioned earlier (detent, cam, friction-based, or geared) to determine the most suitable solution.
Incorporate kinematic coupling: Integrate the designed kinematic coupling (Kelvin Coupling) into the toolchanger assembly to ensure proper alignment and stability during the locking process.
Provide detailed design documentation: Create comprehensive design documentation, including detailed drawings, assembly instructions, and any additional information necessary for manufacturing and assembly.
Requirements:
To successfully undertake this project, the freelancer should possess the following qualifications:
Mechanical engineering expertise: Demonstrated experience and expertise in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in designing precision mechanical systems and mechanisms.
Proficiency in CAD software: Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings. Experience with software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools is essential.
Understanding of kinematic principles: A solid understanding of kinematic principles and the ability to design and implement kinematic couplings or similar mechanisms.
Experience with spring-loaded mechanisms: Familiarity with designing and implementing spring-loaded locking mechanisms in mechanical systems, including the ability to select appropriate springs and understand their properties.
Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to ensure precision and accuracy in the design of complex mechanical systems.
Effective communication: Strong communication skills to understand project requirements, provide progress updates, and collaborate effectively with the project stakeholders.
Upon completion of the project, the freelancer will deliver the final design documentation, including 3D models, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions.
Interested freelancers are requested to provide their relevant experience, portfolio, and proposed timeline for completing the project. The selection will be based on the freelancer's qualifications, experience, and the proposed approach to designing the spring-loaded locking mechanism.
Note: The attached drawing and video will be provided to the selected freelancer after the project agreement is finalized.
