We require an implementation of mDNS (multicast DNS) inside of an app that will look for our device - go to [url removed, login to view] for details about our device - on a local network. Our device advertises itself using mDNS which makes it visible to iOS devices, but not Android. We need a simple Android app that launches, does an mDNS scan for our device, then - if only one device is found, launches a browser pointing to the device's IP address. If multiple devices are found, presents the user a list of named devices that the user can select from, after which it then launches the browser pointing to the selected device's IP address.
We can provide all of the mDNS specifics for our device to whomever agrees to work on the contract.
We've just added a basic wireframe document that shows the basic functionality we want in our app.
