I need a cross-platform script which allows to download, save and play audio-files (MP3, OGG) on mobile phones.
When I searched for this problem on [url removed, login to view] I found many threads, and it seems to be possible, at least on iOS and Android. I don't know about the other platforms like Blackberry, WebOS or Symbian.
But I am not sure if it makes sense to use native apps for this. I would prefer a cross-platform framework like PhoneGap or Appcelerator (you can suggest other solutions of course).
Basically, the user should download a webpage (HTML5, CSS) and select a song from a list. He could then preview/play the song and download it to his mobile phone if he likes the song.
Addition: it would be nice to have if the mp3-file could be saved as default ringtone. But I am not sure if this can be done. I guess at least on iOS this would have to be set manually via syncing/iTunes, am I correct? on Android it should work, at least I found some promising answers on Stackoverflow.com.
Well, that's it so far. Please ask questions if something needs to be clarified. And I am open for all suggestions :)
See you later.
