My name is Carol, and I'm the founder of FinBot Mobile (check out our tentative website at [url removed, login to view]). My team and I just recently received an educational grant to create a mobile game that teaches young American adults money management.
We are looking to get some quotes from enthusiastic iOS game designers & developers. We want you to be creative, flexible and excited about creating a mobile game that will not only be fun but also make an impact in young people's lives.
The game concept is a simulation game. Users can start a new game, where they name and create a virtual pet called a FinBot. FinBot must eat and sleep to stay alive. To pay for its expenses, FinBot will have to get a job. To increase its income, FinBot may choose to get an education. To intelligently manage its money, FinBot will have to deal with a bank for checkings, savings, credit, et cetera. Additionally, the game will include many "information screens" that explain how gameplay relates to real-life situations.
The specifications of the project are as follows:
-We will not dictate how you choose to develop the project, but we do want to know what programming language and/or tools you plan on using to develop the game, whether you'll be programming in pure Objective C, using Unity, et cetera with your bid.
-We will provide you with a graphical mock-up of the game as well as a details of the gameplay logic as developed by an educational consultant. We expect the process to require extensive communication between us. We will be open to your suggestions for improving playability, and we will do our best to provide you with individual game assets as requested, but you may be responsible for producing some of those yourself with the mock-up we will provide.
-Our game design includes advertising, IAP and push notifications
-The game will include English text - English proficiency is a must
-You will be working alongside another contractor, a game sound designer based out of California, and supervised by a distributed team in the United States (Florida & Washington DC)
What we are hoping to get out of this project is a game that is good enough to release on to the App Store to earn small amounts of revenue. Successful completion of this project MUST include adherence to Apple's Guidelines and acceptance by the App Store before project is considered concluded.
For an idea of what the game will look like, feel free to view our current topic choice for our mock-up designer here: [url removed, login to view] For more information on the project, the team, the game idea and our funding sources, feel free to view our tentative website ([url removed, login to view]).
Thanks for your time -- I look forward to working with you. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions!
