Signature Realty & Management is a full-service real estate firm that specializes in residential sales, property management and community association management. We currently employ two software programs for our Accounting needs: TOPS (Feature list available upon request) for our Community Association Management (We manage roughly 70 communities of over 10,000 homes) and YARDI (Feature list available upon request) for our Residential Property Management side and a handful of our Community Associations and HOAs. Essentially, these track the financial transactions for each unit, as well as allowing for the creation of Violation letters, communications with owners, collecting dues, providing estoppel details for real estate transactions and other tasks of that nature.
Both of our platforms are moving to a cloud-based, per unit billing system that will absolutely destroy our margins, so we are looking for someone to create us a proprietary software program that could allow us to combine the features we need the most into one software program that we'll host on our own Computer Server for employees to access.
We would also like a corresponding mobile app that will allow managers to update property information easily on the go.
We are a small company, and we really don't have a clear understanding of software lingo, so we're hoping someone can help break this down for us. We know this will be an extensive project, but we are committed to your success!
We would also be interested in knowing the cost that you would need for ongoing training and support on a monthly basis after the software is created, so the project would be of an on-going nature. Ideally, we would like to see the project completed in a 3-6 month window, but we aren't even sure that is a reasonable expectation. If it could be done faster, that would blow our minds!
As to the specific skills you need - we'll be honest up front - we have NO IDEA! I just know that the current software programs are installed on our PC-based server, which all users log into remotely. I don't think that we are opposed to having something that is Web-based, we would just need help with setting up all of the space and log-ins and everything else that would be needed. We just want to make sure we have full control over our information and data, and that our software systems don't hold us hostage.
