We are a start-up devoted to ending the days of missing that epic game last night by bringing the user real-time alerts coupled with a community of fans looking out for one another. We have the apps (iphone, android, and desktop) to make this happen currently in the making but are in need of the crucial back-end that interacts with the real-time data to provide the core functionality of the apps.
We are looking for a Back-End Developer who will be responsible for the design, development and deployment of the back-end that interacts with the incoming real-time data associated with live MLB games. I will mainly be using XML Team's Progressive Data Feed for the MLB along with their FeedFetcher Deluxe Software which takes care of all the parsing of real-time XML files and loading of these files onto a MySQL database. What I'm looking for is someone that can do two main things:
1. Set-up the back-end that would interact with this database and use it to update the live scores, box scores, and player/team statistics (say every 30 seconds) across all my Android and iphone app users
2. Set-up a way to constantly scan the incoming data and when certain scenarios are hit (e.g. thru 7 innings, a pitcher has allowed 0 hits), programmatically send an alert to [url removed, login to view] (the vehicle by which I will be sending out push notifications pertaining to these specific alerts)
In regards to number 2, I am really interested in a template so that I can input/modify/add the exact scenarios/situations to look for and what statistics to analyze to make this happen.
We simply need an experienced and knowledgeable programmer to make it all happen!
