We are in need of developing a SSMS add-in for SQL Server 2012, 2008/R2, and 2005. The add-in will connect to a website via HTTP to a web app to submit object details about the table/view or query. The add-in, will validate the request, present an optional popup, so connection details and object details can be adjusted / reviewed / confirmed, and it will make request to web app. The dialog will also show the results from the web app. The results can be viewed in a grid and/or shared via email. clipboard. There will be a 'share' menu item.
The add-in will also have a settings box for entering web app credentials (which will validated in a secure way). There will be a way to download data from the web app and display on the grid, and we will place a new folder (below the standard SQL menu Tables/Views/Synonyms/..../Security) with a list of nodes from the web app, with the option to view the data when right-clicked upon and also store the results to a table.
The tool will also be able to download a log file from the web app, showing activity and usage, and display on the grid.
