I am writing a game for the xBox 360 and in the works of my game development I added a project for the dialogue box within the solution of the main game project. This resulted when compiling into two separate executable, one the main game and the other one is the dialogue box. I really don't like that at all. I tried taking the actual [url removed, login to view] from the project ConversationEngine into the main project and this caused a problem with the XML and I don't know how to fix it. Is it possible you could help me with this regard? What I do not want is merging of the executable or making a separate DLL either. What I want is to have the main project and inside of it the file [url removed, login to view] and the XML working correctly and everything that related to ConversationEngine projects and it's content pipeline etc all to be deleted.
There are also other things I need as improvement to the dialog, I have not managed yet to know how to close the dialog when the conversation is finished. Another bug in the dialog is that when the dialog appears the game is not focused on it, meaning I can still move the hero, the monsters are playing in the background, the time is kicking down while the dialog is still on the screen I don't want that. I want when the dialog appears that everything is focused on the dialog and everything is else paused in the meantime and all key input is on the dialog until the dialog is closed. Another thing is when the dialog appears it is not appearing at the center of the screen, I want it to appear at the center of the screen regardless of where the character have moved in the game.
In the XML for the dialog I don't know how to make it when I select an option to be able to prompt different messages based on the option and how based on the selection it closed the dialog. If you have any questions regardless on this for further detail I will be more than happy to help.
Finally, the levels are saved in [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], etc and at the end of each level there are things like Time:00, Darkness:0, etc. I want at the end of that a Conversation;<n> where <n> is a number anywhere from 0 to infinity. Like 0,1,2,3,,4, etc. Based on that number it will prompt that XML file that is saved on content pipeline that is also called 0,1,2,3, etc. This means I get to pick and choose what dialog to appear in the game level based on that and if there is no conversation in the [url removed, login to view] file of the level then there is no dialog box for that level.
And the last part of the game I need the AI of the soldier ant to be optimized and fixed as well as the hero speed to be fixed. Right now the hero speed is stuck at a certain number, I cannot go 2.1, 2.3, 3.5 etc for hero speed is it possible this could be fixed. Concerning the soldier ant it AI it is almost done but there are certain little bugs, the bug for the soldier ant is when there are certain wall corners and when I move the ant does not attempt to chase me and find a best route to chase me, instead it goes up and down infinitely and if I move further away or the level is more complex or big, it causes a huge drop on the frame rate and perhaps even crash. You can try it out at the current level right now and you will find out what I am talking about. I need this to be fixed. If you need further information on this I will be more than happy to help.
