242252 Certificate Center

I currently have 2 working modules. One is a VB.NET 2003 Web application and one is a VB.NET Windows application that utilize the same database. I need one application created in VB.NET 2005 or 2008 (preferably 08, but flexible) that will combine the 2 into one application. I do have some modifications to make that will change the existing database somewhat. This was done for one indiviual company. Now I want to make it an application that will be utilized by many different companies on a subscription basis. Current Features of Web Application (already programmed and working in VB.NET 2003 but not much error trapping was done) Of course it has a main navigation screen with links to each module. 1. Search by - cert no, order no, company, equipment id, date (can be a range). view selection (can be multiple selected) in pdf format (4 different types of reports based on type of certificate) 2. Request a Tag - similar to a submit feedback page...gathers info and emails to a specified email address 3. spreader calculator - input 3 numbers and it calculates a number (forumlas are alrady done) 4. Capacity calculator - similar to spread calculator with different formula. 5. user login screen in order to access certificates Existing VB.NET 2003 Windows Application Features 1. Certificate Creator Module - creates the cert. about 18 fields. 2 combo boxes, 1 date (with calendar pulldown), 4 check boxes and the rest are text boxes. Based on the selected type combo box certain information gets populated into form and a few labels descriptions change. Options to Print, Clear form, Save only or Close 2. Add Company - adds client company to the database 3. copy cert - enter a cert number and it opens the cert creator module prepopulated with existing information from existing certificate. 4. Search - web application search is same. this was just done in the web application first then just this module was made available to the web. 5. Type Creator - 11 input fields. 2 combo boxes, 3 checkboxes, the rest are text boxes. This creates an id type based on selection. 6. Login manager - create and manage website logins and which company certificates each login as access to. That is what is currently working and just needs to be rewritten. New additions. 1. Upload Center - Ability to upload Adobe Acrobat files into the database without using the Certificate Creation Center. Client would input Date, Certificate number and the file. These would appear in searches along with certificates created in the Certificate center but only those searches done by Certificate Number. 3. On recertifcation. A new number is not needed. it just logs the date. Maximum of 6 times. 2. Change the 4 Certificates to include history or inspection. Each time the certificate is recertified a log entry is made and it appears on the bottom of the certificate. 3. Ability to display weight in both pounds and metric values..currently in pounds/tons 4. Ability to insert a scanned signature on the signature line based on the login. interface for user to upload signature (resizes to fit area) 5. Create a summary report. Used when a client creates multiple certs. It will pull a list of certs based on what was just created or a search field. The list can be printed with the option to also print the individual certs with it. Users can also double-click any cert in the summary and pull up the certification for that individual certifcate (popup not replace current page) 6. Client Manager - Module to manage (add/edit/remove) client logins. Also the ability to set password expiration dates and allow the user to change own password. 7. User Preferences - user interface to manage preferences like their password 8. Subscriptions Manager - Admin level subscription manager. manage active and inactive accounts, specify begin/end dates for subscriptions, view login preferences (like passwords) 9. Security Manager - Give logins, admin or user rights. Specify which company certificates each login has access to search and view. I'm sure their will be additions/changes but this should be enough to get a first phase/alpha going. I have much code in vb.net 2003 for the upload center (not fully working, but close). I would like a total rewrite of all code. The supplied code is given for guidance as to what features the project needs. So if there are better ways to do things (I'm sure there are) then I'm open to creative modifications and suggestions. This site also has to look professional and modern. I do need a logo design and color scheme/look. This does not have to be done by the same person (programmers are not always the best graphic people) so the site just needs to be flexible enough to accomodate a nice design. Please specify if you are quoting the graphic part as well or if you would like to work with someone else on the graphic part. The quote will also include debugging and testing phase. I would expect help on code issues at no additional charge as long as it is not a change/new addition.
