A freelance artist is needed to produce extremely simple drawings for patent applications covering simple, consumer-product oriented inventions.
This project is classed as hourly, but we want to pay on a per file basis, so we will consider each file to be one "hour". Based on our experience, an artist working efficiently can produce these at about 2 per hour or 3 in 2 hours on average; please bid accordingly.
We plan to hire several freelancers and will guaranty each freelancer 2 files to start. We will reward efficient and accurate work with more files.
The successful bidder must be willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement after the bid is accepted. No confidential information will be provided before the bid is accepted.
A file typically requires 1-2 pages; detail level is minimal.
Drawings are to be true black and white. Line drawings are preferred but dithered shading may be used where necessary. The artist is not required to include reference lines or other markings. The artist is to provide his or her own software or equipment. The artist may use any software or may hand-draft and then scan. Work is to be returned in pdf format at 300dpi.
The artist will need to have strong reading comprehension and visualization skills. Each file will have a bullet list of elements that must be included. Some files include a sketch, photograph, or other starting point. The artist must be able to read the bullet list in detail and address every line item, including line items indicating that the drawing is to be different from a provided sketch or photograph. Files will not be considered complete unless all bullet list items are addressed and addressed correctly. The successful artist will communicate with us if anything is unclear and make sure he or she understands the subject of the drawing. By contrast, proceeding with an inadequate understanding is likely to result in inaccurate drawings that will require changes, and therefore be a wasted effort.
