I’d like a PHP-coder to work on the script PhpFreeChat (a php-based chat program, see [url removed, login to view] for more info), and make the following enhancements / bug fixes:
-Add an IP-ban feature: When the /ban command is used, a person’s IP should be banned for a number of days (specified by some parameter, such as 3 days). There should also be some editable list of banned IPs stored somewhere on the server (so that I can go in and manually edit this list if need be).
-Currently, the /ban command does not ban the person’s IP—they can close their browser window and rejoin. I’m not sure how it works currently, but it’s probably some sort of cheap cookie-ban or something. They can get banned and then rejoin over and over again.
-Add a flood control parameter, which prevents people from posting again after they just posted X-seconds ago (so, for example, a person can only post once every 5 seconds).
-Create a parameter which limits the number of emoticons which can be used per post. (Say, to three.) After this maximum is reached, the rest of the emoticons in the message will not be displayed.
-Bug: In my current implementation, there’s a bug when it’s supposed to display the user’s IP address (it either doesn’t show their IP, or it shows the IP address of my server, rather than the user’s own IP).
-Normally, a moderator / admin should be able to click on a person’s name and see their IP address (right above send private message).
These should all be rather easy to do I think for an experienced php coder. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!
