I have a college football website that was created for me a while back. Originally, I wanted it to be a social network where college football fans can "like" or in this case "rep" (as in represent) their favorite teams. My designer created the site to where users have to create an account in order to "rep" a team. There are a lot of other features on there no one uses (because no one comes to the site). Now, I would like to simplify the site, but I cannot find anyone who can break into the code to do so. Everyone I've talked to says that the back-end is very "unfriendly". All I want to do is make it where a visitor does NOT have to create an account in order to "rep" their favorite team. I just want them to come, "rep" their favorite team, then direct them to a page where they can invite other friends to come "rep" their favorite teams. I want to include a block that doesn't allow them to keep "repping", so perhaps implement something that reads that IP address and doesn't let them "rep" from that computer again. That's all that I need.
To go a little more into detail (because I need to make sure you know exactly what I need)....the website was made with social engine software. The site is www.repyoursquad.com.
Please visit the site at www.repyoursquad.com. On the home page there is a box that says "top 10 ranked teams". Underneath each of those teams is a number. That number represents the amount of people that "like" or "follow" or in this case "rep" that particular team. Now, go to "find squads" on the top of the home page and click on it. Once you do that you'll notice a group of teams and a drop down menu at the top. The drop down menu takes you to a specific conference. Within each conference is a group of teams. I want to make it where people can go to "find squads" and click on any team they wish to click on (preferably their favorite team), and click "rep this team" which allows them to "like" that particular team. Before they complete this process, I'd like for them to be warned that they will not be able to "rep" from that particular computer again. Once they "rep" the team, they are added to the total number of people who have "repped" that team and the team is ranked based on how many people have "repped" or "liked" it. Immediately after the visitor "reps" his or her favorite team I want them directed to a message that is encouraging them to invite their friends to come "rep" their favorite teams. That is all.
I hope I did not confuse you. I want to be as specific as possible because the last time I wasn't and I ended up paying for it....literally.
