We require an online store similar to that of [url removed, login to view], we have template designs for our site and now need a talented team of developers to build the site in a very short time frame. We require all the functionality that there is in ebuyer.com.
There is a lot of functionality in the ebuyer website, so please familiarise yourself fully with that website and make sure you are aware of what you are undertaking before bidding. I say this as this project was posted previously only to have a month of the developer's (who won the project) and my time completely wasted.
We will, mostly, be selling the same products as ebuyer, however we will also be stocking a large range of servers and server components and not as much AV equipment.
At the moment we will only be supplying to the UK market, however, we will need it to be straightforward if we were to start offering services in the Americas and EMEA.
We will need the integration and customisation (using our own branding) of the Worldpay credit card payment service into the site. We are already members of Worldpay and can supply the relevant 'web developer documentation' if needed.
The main source of data will be provided by a feed from ‘cnet channel’, this file contains product names, codes, tech sheets, images, etc. This data is then merged with daily 'price files' in three separate formats from three separate distributors. These 'price files’ will contain the stock level, availability and price of each item we sell. If you don't have experience with dealing with cnet channel feeds then do not bother to bid. I'm not being rude, it's just that this is a very complex and large area of expertise and you would be wasting a lot of your time trying to understand it without previous experience.
As I previously said the prices and stock levels will be supplied by files from three distribution centres, however I will need the functionality to add 'specials' and 'clearance items' manually by using a html form that can look up the product info from the cnet database and build the product pages accordingly. These items will require the functionality of having an 'offer valid until ...' date on them, after which the price and availability of that particular item will be purged.
The data in the ‘price files’ will need to be manipulated so to add in my margin/profit. As there will be a number of suppliers with the same items the choice of which distributor’s stock to list should come down to stock availability and best price.
At this point there is no requirement for the backend to 'talk' with any other internal systems, however, depending on the popularity of the site this may well need to be addressed in the future with the prospect of the automation of ordering and accounting.
The system will also be required to generate e-mails for user registration, forgotten passwords, weekly marketing e-mails and orders, etc.
My designer can provide any templates that you require to fulfill the entire website, just let me know what you need.
In addition to the main web site we would also require another 'storefront' (branded with a different name) accessing the backend, however this would be for the sole use of our corporate customers and will need customizable margins depending on the client as well as a 'quote production' facility. Again all templates for the site will be provided as you request them.
The ability to add other branded storefronts in the future is an important requirement should we choose to resell the finished product to our sister companies and this kind of customization will need to be completed in under a week in such scenarios.
Order tracking, order history, warranty info and support telephone numbers will need to be built into the site, order progress will need to be updated manually via a html form as will the ability to add serial numbers and other information. Certain updates to the order should force the generation of an automatic e-mail to the customer for example when the order is dispatched.
If you do not fully understand the requirements either ask for clarification or do not bid!
If you have read and fully understand the requirement please supply the following along with your bid. Failure to do so will result in your bid being ignored.
1. Reference site(s) and details of your experience in integrating with cnet channel's database.
2. Links to testimonials from previous customers if not rated on GAF.
3. Demonstrate a very high proficiency of English in your bid.
