Apple Mac MS Office Install Problem

I have a Apple PowerMac G4 running OS 9.1 Recently I found an old MS Office 4.2.1 CD which I tried to install. As soon as I run setup the system displays the following message: "Microsoft setup was not completed successfully" Help me install this software successfully. The Mac world is new to me, coming from a Wintel environment, please provide a step-by-step explanation. On a related subject, If anyone knows where I can get a copy of Microsoft Office 2001 Mac at a great price, please let me know. I don't mind if it is used. Thanks for your help.
