I am currently developing an intranet/web based subscription application (using classic ASP and MS Access) to enable us to generate a csv file of payments due in the current month.
I have all of the data entry sorted and can generate the csv file but below is the bit i am having difficulty with.
The customers need to have an option of monthly, weekly and quarterly
the way i am intending to acheive this is by having the following tables.
The first will be the subscription table containg the fields:
(various user info fields), DateOfFirstPayment, DateOfPreviousPayment.
I think i will need to have a transaction table containing fields:
Customer, PaymentDueDate, (various user info fields). Hope that makes sense so far.
This is the required page/script i am having difficulty with:
I need an update page that will loop through the subscription table;
check if the DateOfPreviousPayment is empty if it is it needs to check if the
DateOfFirstPayment is in the current month and if it is perform the following actions:
update field in subsciption table DateOfPreviousPayment to DateOfFirstPayment and also insert a record into the transaction table
for the payment due. (company name, date of payment etc)
If when it checks the DateOfPreviousPayment it has a value it needs to check if the date is in the previous month and if it is change to current month and update the transaction table.
