I'm looking for a talented MongoDB and Java developer to join me on a project to re-build a stock market web application for one of my clients.
The application stores historical stock market data, and allows the user to paper trade (ie, pretend trade) against that data.
I'll be re-building the front-end code (built with Adobe Flex), and I'm looking for an extremely talented developer to join me and manage the server-side code.
All the server code is written in Java, and currently they're storing the historical stock data as flat files and serving those files directly to the Flex Client.... and it is SLOW!!!! Our task is to re-work things and make it lightning fast.
We think MongoDB is the solution we need for this, but we're also open to suggestions.
If you're smart, driven to write stellar code, and love to collaborate towards success, then you're the guy I'm looking for.
My client would prefer that we use a developer that is in North America, so preference will be given there, but it's not a hard and fast requirement.
Also, we're looking to hire an individual (not a company that assigns out work to developers). That is a hard and fast requirement. So, if you're not an individual, please save your Connects. :-)

So glad to see this project thought I am not from North American. I am an expert on Java and have much experience on Mysql,MongoDB and Redis. I really suggest Redis as the persistence server. Talk later through PM. :)
I need a day to analyse the data and to find the communication points between them before jumping into development. If its just a data migration from current system to MongoDB should not take a week.
