We need a PHP/MySQL application to help us manage home building. We are currently using spreadsheets like the ones attached to manage this process, but want to move to a web-based database solution. We want to use a db schema like the one attached (see [url removed, login to view]). Small or critical changes to that schema are acceptable, but we have to approve those changes. The code should allow the user to add items to any of the databases (customers, houses, lots, etc.), as well as editing and updating existing information. Users should also be able to delete records while maintaining the db integrity (i.e., make sure links to the deleted record don't screw up the code). Users should be able to generate reports for viewing on the web that replace the attached spreadsheets. The concept is to have the database center around a house and have all the info associated with it -- customer, subdivision, scanned documents, schedule, permits, change orders, etc. -- accessible via the web browser, so that we can: a) quickly check to see if something has been done, b) quickly locate a (usually scanned) document that we might need (such as a change order), c) generate a variety of reports telling us where things stand (obviously this particular bid will not include "all" possible reports :) ). d) Add a file name (with or without path) and have it added to that house's information. This does NOT mean to upload the file; the files we want to "attach" or associate with a house are already on the file server, and already available to the user on the local network. e) Click on the name of the scanned files and have the proper viewer launch to attempt to view the file name given on the local network (Open Office, xpdf, planner, etc.) This db will be the central point around which we manage the field work of the company. We want this designed carefully so that it is flexible enough for us to add more stuff to it (that we want to track).
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
Target platform is Linux, running MySQL, Apache, and PHP. All development should be done in PHP (no Java, etc.), though shell scripts are OK for the installation process only. NO GUI is involved here, and we are ONLY willing to look at web-based, MySQL+PHP+Apache solution, running on Linux. NOTHING else.
