I have a "Pickem" football site that I use and I am trying to add a "Side" pool to it. I was able to add this so that is will post what I need to the database, but now i need a "standings" page to calculate the results. Here are the details:
1.) I have a entry form that the user will pick 1 Quarterback, 1 Running back, and 1 Wide Receiver each week. Each player should only be used one time and one time only. If the user has already picked this player, they should not be able to choose this player again - the player should no longer be able to be picked from drop down of players, meaning if a user picked a player in week 1, then in week 2 the player is no longer in the dropdown for that user.
(what the person who accepts project will do is make the player hidden if already chosen)
2.) Based on the following parameters, each player will receive 1 point. If a QB throws for 275 or more yards, they are awarded 1 point. If a Running Back rushes for 100 or more yards, they are awarded 1 point. If a Wide Receiver catches for 100 or more yards, they receive 1 point. This is already done and I will enter the value of 1 or 0 to each player each week -
( no action needed by whoever accepts project)
3.) Need to extract the results into a "Standings" page - this is written already, except for the calculations to determine the actual results. What needs to happen here is that before the start of the first game of week, all user selections are hidden with a "?" mark. Once the first game starts, the players will become visible to all to see. There will be a running calculation of each week and a total calculation of all weeks combined.
(what the person who accepts project will do is create standing page calculations so they display as noted above))
To sum it up, I have some of the structure in place. There are only 2 small pieces that need to be done from number 1 and 3. I already have 3 other sidepools that do exactly what I am asking and can be referenced for sctructure if needed,
Attached are 2 files, one is the "pick sheet" where the user will pick the QB, RB, and WR. The second is a partial standings page. The structure is intact, but the calculations are way off.
This is not a hard project for someone who is experienced with php/mysql. Alot of the code is already in place, so you are not starting from scratch. I understand this can be bad or good depending on how the existing code is.
Please bid accordingly.
