Ok, Hi Everyone,
I'm running Oscommerce on a hired dedicated Windows server which has a downloads website running 100% the way i want it. I have about 30gigs of files for sale, located in the download folder in the oscommerce system.
I have setup another dupilcate website on the same server, with a different design and colours etc, but with the same products and items for sale etc. I don’t want to waste another 30gigs of space on the server by copying download folder/files again.
I need the duplicate website to link to the original folder when an order is placed.
This is controlled from the [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] files in OSCommerce.
So, 2 Sites, 2 databases, 2 everything really, but i only want 1 download folder.
The wish would be to setup more sites in the future and have each product link to the original download folder/file when the product is purchased.
I tried changing the [url removed, login to view] to the path of the 1st site, but the 2nd site just gives the standard OSC warning about not having a valid download folder configured.
If i have Item 1 on Website A, and Item 1 on Website B and i have a sale for Item 1 on website B (or C or D in the future) the download link for the customer will actually link to Item 1 on website A (Download folder).
My download folder is size is expanding all the time, so i cannot afford to copy the folder again and again without running out of space.
PLEASE only bid if you know the solution for this, website A is LIVE and cannot be disturbed, but website B is up and running but not being used, so this can be used for testing if needed.
