I need a program in joomla (probably a mambot or a plugin) to do the following: Look for the oldest published newsitem in one or more news categories and override the creation date to be the current time. This should be the same behaviour as doing this manually by opening the oldest item and choosing 'override creation date' (for instance, invalidate the cache or something). The mambot should be installable and uninstallable and should have the following fields:
1. textfield where you can specify which news categories (comma separated) should be included.
2. Dropdown box (1-24) where you specify in hours what interval this functionality should be executed. If you choose '3' for instance, it would mean that every 3 hours an old newsitem is promoted to be the newest. If you choose '24', it would mean that once a day an old newsitem is promoted to be the newest.
3. Option box where you can specify if either each category should be handled separately or if all the newsitems of all categories should be processed together. Call this 'Process categories separately'. If this is ticked, and you have choosen 3 news categories for instance, it would mean that the 3 news items are promoted to be the newest every time (oldest one of each category). If this is unticked, it would mean that only the oldest of all the news items of all categories is promoted.
To give some more background to this, consider 2 news categories, for instance 'Permanent jobs UK' and 'Permanent jobs NL'. In these categories, each 40 jobs are posted and these are equally important. The front page of the joomla website just shows the 5 newest of each category and I would like functionality where these jobs are rotated. So the homepage would look different every day, each job would get as much exposure. Also, it would mean that the RSS feeds are updated a couple of times a day.
