I have two domain names, one old, one new. What I would like to do is change the current live website into the new domain name officially. Right now the DNS of the new domain name is set to point to the dedicated server IP address, while wordpress is configured to redirect to the new domain name. Using both the new and old domain name works. However, google rank is being penalized because of this, in addition to failure to successfully index the new domain name in search engines. Google Analytics also fails to recognize the site anymore.
I need someone familiar with dedicated server administration (Fedora Linux) and DNS administration to properly set up the new domain name, and tell google (and other search engines) of this site change without causing penalty to the google/alexa rank, all done with minimum server downtime.
The final catch is that the emails of both old domain and new domains must work, with the new domain as the actual, real e-mail address domain.
Please do not overbid this project. This is a simple task -- in summary you are just CHANGING the domain name of a website and setting up the old e-mail addresses to forward to the new e-mail's domains.
Hi, I'm interested in doing this for you. It's not clear from the description if you want to keep the old server, or just the old domain. It doesn't affect my bid, but would need to be clarified before I start.
