I have a widows 2008 server running MSsql server with a database i need replicated to a linux MYsql server.
I really only need one table of the DB replicated (maybe 2 or 3 tables, but not the entire DB, ideally). The replications needs to be read-only so that no data can be written to or modified on the MSsql server.
Ideally i would like the ability to leave out certain columns of the table from the replication. (if this is not possible or very complicated to implement, than its ok if the entire table must be replicated)
The source (MSsql server) and destination server (MYsql server) are already able to connect to each other via a secure VPN.
I have done some research on SymmetricDS and it seems that maybe an option to accomplish my goal, so im open to using that as a solution. ( [url removed, login to view] )
I have two Virtual Machines setup (one windows, one linux) with the exact same OSs and SQL Server versions, and the exact DB in place so that the replication solution can be tested/setup , prior to being implemented on the "live" servers.
