I am currently running a script which unfortuately due to twitter changing its paging mechanism does not work now. The original author has too much work to do to re-write a new script for me. I need someone to write a new script. I will write down what the script does and how it works. I will also write down what changes and how i want it implemented.
You have your twitter account, lets name it MrLandmark.
Mrlandmark has XXX followers following his acocunt.
Mrlandmark account sends out tweets to the people following him.
[url removed, login to view] will send you a tweet when you have reached...
(...every 100 followers)
When you have reached 1000 followers, your landmark will be updated to every 1000th.
You can see this working at this twitter account [url removed, login to view]
The script works by cronjobs every XXX mins. Firstly it looks at the account's followers via twitter's API. If there are any new users it will add them to the MySql database. Then it checks how many followers these users have and compares it to their previous number. It registers the number in the MySql database for the next cronjob. If the number meets or exceeds the landmark it will send them a tweet out.
John123 has 397 followers. The cron job sees this and registers 397 followers. On the next cron job it sees that john 123 has 401 followers. It has reached a new landmark, there sends a new tweet out.
i.e "@john123 Congrats you have reached 400 followers!"
Exceptions have to be in Place to ensure that if a user stays on 400 followers numerous tweets are not sent out on the same number. I.e ensure they are only sent out once.
My current script only worked if a user is following you. I would like the chosen winner to implement the following.
1. Firstly, any user can follow the account, this means once they follow the account they will get updates from the script.
2. I would like a 'whitelist' table of twitter usernames. This is where i can add twitter usernames. Then you can export that table into csv through phpmyadmin. These usernames would be would also recieve updates until removed from the database.
If you have any questions to ask me please feel free to ask and i will answer as soon as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this.
