We have a website where users can place an order for printing and shipping their photos. Users normally use our web based interface to place orders (like [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view] etc). We would like users to be able to place an order by sending an email to orders at ourdomainname.com.
The subject line will contain their username.
The body will contain the recipient address.
The attachments will be images/photos that need to be printed and shipped.
We need someone to write a program that can parse the emails coming to the orders mailbox. We already have a routine that creates the order itself. So all we need is a mail parser that can send the subject, body, and attachments as arguments to the order creating function. We will handle the rest.
The script will need to run every 5 minutes, checking for new emails every time and submitting any valid orders.
[url removed, login to view] -- this can be a starting point for someone interested in doing this task.
Please discuss via PMB how you intend to tackle this problem and how you will create the solution. The above is just my understanding and you can come up with something completely different if it would work better. We just need to be able to take printing orders for photos via email (for registered users, and even the recipients will be in the system with unique IDs).
