Reorganize an existing online product database and existing software processing. Current inventory process can produce html code used to display a product. This project moves beyond html for display purposes to creating a flat file for the inventory item. Rather than single item html code processing, its creating at least one flat file with sequential processing of a checkbox next to selected inventory items. Project design MUST allow for potential to create 2-4 flat files, one file at a time, on the same selected inventory.
Primary Criteria Elaborated:
a). Building the flat files from selected inventory files. Making the flat file creation process automatic rather than manual typing. Every product should be able to list in more than 1 flat file at a time. Add some error checking and improving error checking when getting feedback about which inventory items generate fewer errors on upload. Saving the flat file may create an excel file / .csv file / or tab delimited .txt file.
b) Selecting each product and flat file venue on a selection screen. Making it as simple as clicking a box for each product and a box for each flat file created (to include that product).
Secondary tasks: (different budget)
a). Enable creatinga new product (BASED ON AN EXISTING PRODUCT) to lessen the data entry time of getting a similar product in inventory. Creating a screen that selects existing inventory to a product mod/ product change file may be suitable.
b). Continue creating new products from scratch & adjusting the current inventory input with one for flat files.
c) Update the inventory as needed after the selection task is processed with new inventory items and any created from modify / new process.
The project MUST be under $2000 budget; $1000 budget preferred for primary criteria. To assist coding & design, the current code used to:
1. allow input of inventory
2. edit inventory items added
3. pull photo links for file creation
4. other current code needed from existing project...
Will all be made available to winning team for easier design & implementation.
