This is a website for bringing academic website lessons to users who are in grades 7 to seniors in college. Also, there will be lessons for professionals seeking professional certifications. URLs with acceptable presentations will be associated with subject matters chosen by the users. Once the user enters some keywords, a listbox of hyperlinks will appear allowing the user to choose a presentation to view.
It will be a site for subscribers, and will access a proprietary database that must be protected from plundering, so IP address detection and recording will be needed. Automatic suspension of IP addresses that overuse the site will be needed. We need to collect feedback from the users which lessons they like best.
The databases will be simple csv ascii format, which I would like to have resident on my home computer. If this is not feasible, I would like to have them encrypted wherever the site is hosted. I need to have access to the database at all times, and need to edit it as needed. To reiterate: the database is the life of the business, so it must be kept secure.
I am adept at HTML and at visual basic, so I am hoping that the site will use formats accordingly. Of course, I need to have full rights to all source code for this site.
Attached, I have included diagrams of the overall expected site map and rudimentary storyboards of pages anticipated.
I expect this to go through a total of three iterations before finalizing the finished product. I should have the lessons ready by Sept 1, which is the date I would like to have this site launched.
This RFP is effective until Aug 15, 2011.
