Ok here is what I am looking to do. Ideally I would like to be able to take an existing cs-cart store and integrate it into Wordpress. So basically I would like to take the existing cs-cart store which is located currently on the root domain and move it to /shop and install Wordpress on the root domain.
By integrating I mean:
The site must be fluid throughout the entire site where there is no design or overall look and feel throughout the entire site. Perfect solution would be to have the design function of wordpress, meaning the header, the outer columns and footer with the store functionality with cs-cart. So all the pages would have the same outer shell design but the only difference would be whats being displayed witin the center section meaning a wordpress post/page or the cs-cart categories, products, checkout pages. I will need to be able to add some features of the cs-cart to the outer shell design of the wordpress site like the shopping cart that shows how many items are in your cart. I have the most current copy of cs-cart except the last update. Cs-cart tends to update their software often so I need to make sure that that the integration is not messed up by any updates to either wordpress or cs-cart as they do tend to chage css files and just about everything.
I will removing all content such as pages, news, etc… from the cs-cart store and adding placing that content on witing pages and post in wordpress so I will also need server side 301 redirects for all changed urls.
