Specfict is a literary website that offers readers and writers of Speculative Fiction (Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror) a place to share with each other. Readers can read the latest submissions and review them, hopefully with well thought out feedback. Readers can vote, on a scale of 1 to 10 on how much they enjoyed the article. The top article in each of the major headings is eligible to win a cash honorarium. Writers can post their work to get feedback and to compete for cash awards.
The way that good submissions rise to the top and poor ones sink is by user voting. Users vote for articles using the scale from 1 to 10. Users can retrieve articles to read in order by their category and their aggregate score. Those article that have been read the most and upvoted the most will have a tendency to rise to the top. Users can encourage friends to vote for their articles but only one vote per account per article will count. Buttons should be furnished to quickly link articles or blog entries to the top social networking sites, as well as print, save, and email.
Users can retrieve article in popularity sequence (as per user rankings) in each of the categories. The resulting list of clickable articles will be in popularity sequence. You can also retrieve articles chained off of a given author's blog page. You can also look up a given author and read all of their articles in popularity ranking sequence.
In short, you can submit whatever you wish. It would be good to accept article submissions as a text file or artwork submissions as a JPG or PNG file.
There should be a link to artwork submissions and as well as featured artwork. Featured artwork and articles are those we paid for.
Banner and Text advertising should be supported on all pages
