I need a website made that will display data for a tally room for an election. the idea is that some staff will be collating data from polling booths which is then displayed to an audience via a simple webpage that is being displayed on a data projector.
Essentially there needs to be one page that is an "back-of-office" page that allows (multiple) staff to enter data. This would look like a list of polling booths that the staff can then click on to enter data for that particular booth (when someone opens a booth for data entry then it is locked for entry so no one else can enter at the same time on that particular booth). Once the new data is entered, they press an update button and the data is committed. Each entry should be recorded in a database (MySQL) and timestamped, although no interface is required to look at this.
The latest results are then displayed on another page which should be refreshed periodically.
There should be provision for 60 booths but only active booths should be displayed, and provision for 10 candidates but only active candidates displayed.
The names of the booths should be configurable in the software/database and can managed using phpmyadmin so no interface is required.
I can provide the basic calculations in a spreadsheet for the actual math.
It is planned to host it on a local web server (linux/apache/php/mysql) and to secure it simply using .htaccess
UPDATE : I would like this project done quickly as I need it operational before the 30th January
