I am trying to automate an excel process that needs to be completed on a weekly basis.
Essentially I have 81 worksheets in excel that I currently update automatically. I have named these worksheets: 1, 1(2), 1(3)....up until 1(80). From a table in excel I have a list of names that I need to apply to each of the worksheets...for example worksheet 1 needs to be renamed "SK", worksheet 1(2) needs to be renamed "AB" and so on. The naming convention is always different so the text length is not fixed but does fall within the worksheet name length maximums. I would like a macro to be written in excel that could:
1/ look in one excel worksheet "Worksheet Names"
2/ starting in cell A1 to A81 I would have all the current Worksheet Names I want to update
3/ the macro would copy the name in Cell A1 ie."AB" and replace the worksheet name 1 with "AB".
4/ this process would loop for all 81 names and rename all the worksheets
Please request more information if the above does not fully describe what I am trying to accomplish.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
Macro needs to be written to function with Excel 2003 Service Pack 2.0
