Statistic Tracking and Checking System App

Hello! I would like have a database and application to store and track my students attendance and progress. ? They come in everyday to lift weights and practice. ? I would like track this attendance and there progress in lifting. ? I would also like to have graphical reports generated based upon a set of criteria from the database. ? The user interface will need to be simple and easy to understand. ? SQL 2008 Express of MySQL for the database and coder's choice for the GUI. I have some items listed in the details section but here at the biggest needs: 1. Database that can store listed information 2. GUI that allows the entering of information into database. 3. GUI that allows users to search by last name and "check in"/Check out" from practice. 4. A set of simple reports that details the total days attended, ? the top 10, all students below an adjustable threshold, and a few more. 5. Reports should be formatted to fit on 11 x 14 paper for easy printing. 6. Color and graphics will be helpful in the reports; example: stars showing which days attended next to students names.
