We have a small project which involves finishing of a custom search integration for our website.
We have posts with geo location lat/lng coordinations in custom fields for google maps integration on each post listing. We have integrated a search form in which searches a specified radius (from a dropdown box). This radius function pulls geo location coordinates from the 'location' input text box value submitted in the search form. The function takes the address/zip code/location and creates coordinates and creates circular radius area around the coordinates and any posts that match those coordinates get included into the results query. However, it's not correctly analyzing the posts we have. If we have a listing with coordinate markers for Brooklyn, New York , as of right now we can type in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the post with location markers in Brooklyn, New York still shows up in a result when searching for Santa Fe, New Mexico. We need it to properly take the location, json_decode the location and grab the markers (it does this currently) and analyze the current post's custom fields for a match in the radial search.
What we want to accomplish is to be able to select from a drop down of categories which category they'd like to search in. Based on that selection, they'll type in their location to the right in the second text box. Then they choose a radius selection (1mi - 1000 miles) , which the radius selection we already have implemented. Like I stated above the issue we're having is properly analyzing posts in specific category's custom fields for matching radius coordinates in the search.
Bids will be given more information regarding our vision for custom search integration. Thanks
