My WordPress website runs the membership plugin 'WishList Member' ([url removed, login to view])
I need to allow users to also be able to login to WordPress with their *email address* rather than just their username.
The reason for this is that my shoppingcart system adds users to WordPress with awkward usernames and its difficult to automatically pass the generated username on to the buyer during the checkout. So, because of this issue, I need to be able to let users use their email address as the login username for their WordPress account.
I have found a free WordPress Plugin that enables this functionality (WP Email Login: [url removed, login to view]), but unfortunately it appears to not work well with the WishList Member Plugin...
What happens is when the 'WP Email Login' plugin is activated, and I try to login with a user's email address, the user is successfully logged in (I can access protected content), which is great, however, immediately after logging in, the user is redirected to the blog's homepage. This is not good because inside WishList Member's settings I have set it to redirect users upon login to a *specific members only blog page*, but this is not happening, it is being ignored.
So while the free 'WP Email Login' plugin is working, there appears to be a small conflict between it and WishList Member. This is what I need fixed.
Enabling email addresses to be used as the login username is very important for my website.
So I'm looking for a knowledgeable web developer, familiar with WordPress Plugins, to modify this free 'WP Email Login' plugin so it works with my WordPress WLM setup. Or, if necessary, build a plugin to enable this functionality in a way that doesn't conflict with WLM.
Experience with WordPress plugin development is essential and a familiarity with WishList Member would be advantageous.
