I would like to add a National Presentations Directory on my site ([url removed, login to view]) that would allow a visitor to click on a state of the map of United States (my idea is to use a map bought through Flashmaps, if you have a better idea please let me know) that will take them to a page of all the upcoming presentations in that state. It would be linked to the Global Directory which will be on a new menu that I am currently having done for my site.
I would like to allow speakers to be able to go to a form on the website to submit their presentation, and, once submitted, this would automatically post to the appropriate page for that state. I would also need the presentation to automatically be deleted 24 hours after the listed presentation date/time so that, essentially, I would not have to worry about this portion of the site. I will need to somehow have access to be able to delete a listing if it is found to be incorrect, or if this service is abused. Also, it would be very helpful, that in addition to the web page of the state that the listing is for, if it would also be able to post to a page of all the presentations that are coming up (submitted). Eventually, I would like to do the same thing for a map of Canada and/or the world, but if it is simply a matter of basically copying what you would do for the United States to the Canada/world one, it might be cheaper to do both now, verses waiting for the Canada one later on? Please let me know your thoughts.
As well as the online form to submit categories, it would definitely be a preference of mine if it could be created within the template of one of my webpages, or a page that would blend well with the design. There would be a mixture of required and optional categories that could be filled in. If the drop down boxes for state/etc. could match the color of the scroll bars that are on the site (when viewed in Internet Explorer) that would be another definite plus. I am not sure if there is a way to add an e-mail verification so that I can be sure someone isn’t putting up a mock presentation, if this would cost to much, than it wouldn’t be necessary.
Also, I would like to have the database create some type of log file that I would be able to go into to see: 1) a presentations submitted 2) all e-mail addresses of the presenters submitted. I would also need to have some type of access to delete a listing that is listed wrongly or is being abused.
In order to get a better idea of what I am hoping for, I have set up a mock example on my site at: [url removed, login to view]
Please check this out and let me know what you can do, and how much it would cost. This mock example has further instructions/clarifications.
Currently I am looking for bids as quotes to get an idea of how much something like this would cost. If it is within my budget, I would want to make a go for it, if not, I will have to put this project on hold.
